This stately Empire tall post bed has four posts reeded, a broken arch headboard with finial and a blanket rail. Unusually, the bed was originally made to queen width. New side rails increase the length to fit a modern queen mattress and foundation. The headboard is of walnut, the posts and rails of poplar.
